Finding a job is just like a finding a mate

1. You're never quite sure how much effort you need to put in.
2. You want to try as hard as you can but you don't want to waste your time.
3. You send out lots of feelers (i.e. resumes, networking - arm touches, come hither eyes)
4. You waste about the same amount of time worrying about your eligibility for the position/mate as you do about whether the position/mate has what you are looking for
5. After a few months of being without, you commence obsession, and you don't stop until your object of desire (or 2nd or 3rd or 20th runner up chooses you
6. You wait and wait for the phone to ring/your inbox to fill up, and your constantly checking your phone/email for good news.
7. When you realize it is just your mom calling you can't help but feel disappointed.
8. You sometimes find yourself feeling sad or inadequate when listening to you friends talk about their amazing jobs/mates
9. You want to be happy for your friends when they find their perfect job/mate but you find yourself beating down that twinge of envy
10. You are certain that when you finally find that perfect job/mate at least half of your troubles will dissipate but that you can't help but admit that you'll probably find something new to stress over
